CYP LOWER – Welcome Back to Spring Term 2021!

Welcome back to the Spring Term 2021 in these strange and unique times. We have had an extremely busy and productive first week ‘back to school’. The vast majority of you have been learning from home and a big well done to all of you who have been logging on to your live lessons. Please note that it is an expectation that children in Reception to Year 2 are present at their live class lessons.

We also need to give you a few reminders regarding Googlemeet protocols to ensure that these lessons run smoothly and that children are able to listen and engage with minimum disruption:

  • Please ensure that children’s microphones are muted unless they are asked to unmute by their teacher. This is very important to ensure that the children get the maximum benefit from the lesson
  • Please use the ‘raise hand’ symbol if your child would like to contribute to the discussion, rather than interrupting the flow of the lesson by unmuting
  • Please do not join Googlemeets early. A member of staff needs to enter the meeting first to ensure that the meeting is recorded and that that staff member has the administration rights. This is really important in terms of safeguarding. Please join at the allocated time

Googlemeet only allows 100 participants at a time to join an assembly. To ensure that more children can access our assemblies we will now split them in to EYFS (Little Cypress and Reception) and KS1 (Years 1 and 2). These assemblies will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11.100am and the codes will be as follows:

EYFS (Little Cypress and Reception) – cypassembly

KS1 (Years 1 and 2) – cypassembly1

The Keyworker Provision in Little Cypress is up and running and the children have settled in well to their learning. These children are accessing the online offer during the day and we are so proud of both them and the staff who are working hard to ensure continuity and quality provision for our families.

We have loved seeing all the work the children are doing and that has been uploaded to the blogs. Keep up all the amazing work! We have included a few examples of children’s work in the gallery, from Rainbows to Year 2.

Have a lovely weekend.
