CYP LOWER – November fun at Lower School!

Another week has flown by at Cypress, and once again we have packed so much in to our time at school.

These are some of the things that we have been doing:

No Pens Day: On Wednesday, we put down our pens and pencils and learned in different ways. We had a great time, thinking of alternative ways of working. What amazingly imaginative learners we are!

Show Racism the Red Card: On Friday, Cypress gave ‘Racism the Red Card’ by wearing red (our uniform helped!) and thinking of our similarities and differences and the importance of living in a fair, safe and tolerant society.

New menus and themed events from Harrison, the school caterer: Please have a look at the new menus from our caterer, Harrison, here as well as their themed events for 2021 here.

Christmas Fun and activities: As these challenging times persist and we approach Christmas, we are determined to make this time a fun and festive occasion for all. We are therefore changing some of the traditional Christmas events and creating new ones, some with a virtual dimension!  Little Cypress have started to learn their Christmas songs and Reception and Year 1 have started rehearsing for our Nativity, which we will record and then share with our parents and carers. We also have our Christmas Lunch on Thursday, 10th December, on Friday, 11th December will be Christmas Jumper Day when everyone is invited to wear their festive jumpers.

Carol Singing and Fund Raising: Can you help our lovely Green Class Teaching Assistant, Natasha Kokkini, raise £1500 to support our wonderful Cypress School by carol singing and spreading Christmas spirit across our lovely community? Please donate to the JustGiving Crowdfunding Page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/cypresschristmascarols?utm_term=wMJkxEJYw

We do hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Mrs Roberts and Miss Chapman
