We have had another busy week in Little Cypress. We thought about why we wear poppies in November and thought about all the brave men and women who have fought in wars so that we have the freedoms we enjoy today. On Armistice Day itself we made our own poppies and at 11am we fell silent for two minutes whilst we watched this beautiful clip from CBeebies, which helps our youngest children to understand a little better what we are remembering:
We have started to learn about Diwali and why this colourful festival is so important to Hindus around the world. We listened to the story of ‘Rama and Sita’ and printed some fabulous firework paintings. We will carry on with this theme next week.
On Friday, we wore our pyjamas and onesies to school to raise money for the very worthwhile charity, Children in Need, which raises awareness and funds for vulnerable children and their families.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
