We have had the most fabulous week, celebrating all the books we love, as well as listening to and enjoying new ones, during our Book Week at Cypress. In Little Cypress we have been listening to well-loved fairy tales and have also heard different versions of these familiar stories. We have focused on Goldilocks, Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood in particular this week and have used our imagination and language skills whilst acting out these stories using story props and puppets.
On Thursday it was World Book Day and we dressed up in a vast array of amazing outfits, celebrating so many of our favourite books. We also listened to some amazing storytelling by our Patron of Reading, Margaret Bateson-Hill and joined in her wonderful adventures.
On Friday the Year 6 classes visited us to do some ‘Buddy Reading’ which was great fun! The weather was lovely – at last – so we did our reading in the Adventure Playground. The Year 6 children were so kind and gentle to the younger children and they all had a wonderful time together.
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
