CYP LOWER – Heading for Half-term!

Thank you!

It seems barely possible that half a term has passed and we have been learning online for all that time! We have been incredibly impressed with the hard work and dedication that our families have shown to this way of learning and thank you from all the staff at Cypress for your continued efforts. We hope that when we return after the break, we will have a clearer idea from the Government as to when we can re-open the school. Here is a message from Mrs Roberts and Miss Chapman:

Gold Awards

We were delighted to award Gold Awards to the following children in each class for being Independent Learners:

Rainbows: Poppy; Nursery: James T and Rose; Red Class: Sophie and Reuben; Yellow Class: Caitlin and Toby; Orange Class: Mina and Elias; Keyworker Provision EYFS: Ariana; Blue Class: Owen and Cayla; Indigo Class: Dora and Mac; Green Class: Willa and Andre; Violet Class: Louis and Amaya; Ruby Class: Filip S and Lucy; Turquoise Class: Jack and Emaan; Keyworker Provision Year 1: Isadora; Keyworker Provision Year 2: Oliver
Screen-free Friday
Friday brought a welcome break from so much screen time; something that we have all had to become accustomed to in the past few months. The blogs were full of great ideas and activities that can be undertaken without needing a screen! We hope that for many of you this was a welcome respite and that plenty of fun was had by all!
Reading Awards
Mrs Parker was delighted to award an enormous number of Gold Accelerated Reading certificates in her virtual assembly on Thursday – well done to all those children who are keeping their reading going at home – it is so important! She was also excited to see how many children have been reading on Bug Club and awarded special Bug Club certificates to the top 3 readers from each class. Bug Club is an excellent online reading platform that teachers can monitor and set books specifically for each child – please make sure you are making the most of it! We hope you are also enjoying lots of other stories and books at home. Mrs Parker highly recommends listening to stories in Audible – you can find the link on our online learning page on the website. Book Week is coming soon and we will have lots of fun focusing on reading!
