CYP LOWER – Golden Days in Little Cypress!

What a wonderful week we have enjoyed in Little Cypress! The weather has turned warmer and drier and we made full use of the amazing grounds we have here at Cypress, spending time in the Adventure Playground, Forest School, our field and the Little Cypress playgrounds and grassed area.

With amazement, we have seen our beans sprout in to green shoots and we have been making sure that we are watering them regularly so that the soil does not dry out. We have read various versions of Jack and the Beanstalk and one of our favourites has been Jack and the Jellybean Stalk. We all liked the idea that we could grow a beanstalk which produced delicious flavoured jellybeans! However, we didn’t particularly relish the thought of tasting the rogue jellybean which tasted of smelly old socks! We discussed the original story and made a wonderful story map of the parts we remembered, in the correct order.

The children have been working really hard on developing their fine motor skills through activities such as threading beads on to pipe cleaners. We witnessed incredible focus and determination and made some impressive necklaces and bracelets!

We hope you all have a lovely half-term break. See you back at school on Monday, 7th June!
