Our week started with the most fantastic assembly, led by our Patron of Reading, Margaret Bateson-Hill. She had the whole of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enthralled with her re-telling of ‘The Wide-mouthed Frog’. Everyone then joined in with the well-known rhyming poem ‘I know an Old Lady who swallowed a fly’.
Margaret then hosted three workshops in each of the reception classes, where she re-told the story of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. She also gave the children a challenge to try and solve, regarding boats, cabbages, goats and wolves! All the children had a wonderful day being immersed in story language. Thank you, Margaret, for coming to visit us!
