Harvest is a special time for giving thanks for the food we eat as well as remembering that we are not all as fortunate as each other.
In our special harvest assembly parents, carers and children from across the school learnt about the journey that our food takes before it is available for us to buy. We learnt how delicate fruit is usually handpicked from trees and bushes so that it doesn’t get bruised and that many vegetables grow in the ground and are harvested using special machines.
Through their fabulous singing, the children captured the celebration of harvest with songs about the red combine harvester, the harvest moon and about the wide variety of foods that are available for us to eat.
The back drop to our assembly was a table of food, kindly donated by our families. This has been greatly received by The Salvation Army who will distribute it. We would like to thank you for your generosity.
