Year 6 trip to the Isle of Wight – Wednesday

We woke early this morning to be greeted by a beautiful, bright and breezy Sandown Bay.  After eating a hearty breakfast, we set off in the coaches to our main destination for the day – Robin Hill Country Park.

In our groups, we were able to take part in lots of different activities which included exploring the treetop canopy on ‘the Squirrel Adventure’, behaving like pirates on ‘the Colossus’ ride, getting lost in space on a 4D simulator, finding our way back through a maze and hurtling downhill on a toboggan run.  Some of us also chose to watch an amazing falconry display where we saw a giant eagle owl, a Harris’s hawk and a peregrine falcon called Patrick.   After eating our packed lunches, some of us played football while others visited the nature area and took photos of the wildlife which included peacocks, ducks, rabbits and damsel flies but sadly there were no sightings of the elusive red squirrels.

We returned to the hotel around five and relaxed in our rooms before finishing off our day with a barbecue and a trip to the beach.  Altogether a fantastic day – we cannot believe tomorrow is our last full day of activities!
