For the last couple of weeks, Year 4 across the Academy have been visiting the British Wildlife Centre in East Sussex. The trips have been very educational and have supported the children’s learning in science about habitats. As the name suggests, the centre looks after animals native to the British Isles and the children had the oppurtunity to see foxes, otters, deer, badgers, ferrets, a hedgehog and even Scottish wild cats up close. Everyone had a fantastic day out, despite some unseasonably cold weather, and pupils and staff alike thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We also learned a great deal about our natural environment and the animals that live in it.
