Year 3 have been learning all about prehistory in their thematic lessons recently. Last week, the chilldren had a chance to knap soap into Stone Age weapons and tools, just like cave people would have done. Knapping is the name given to the technique of hitting two stones against each other to make arrow heads etc. Stone Age man would have used flint, but we used soap and a dinner knife to create the same effect. As you can see, the children thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon knapping (no pun intended!) and even sat in a Stone Age circle to add to the authenticity.
