Pegasus swim team make great strides at Croydon schools’ gala

The Pegasus Swimming Team took part in the Croydon Schools’ Swimming Association (CSSA) annual gala held at South Norwood Pool on 27th January.

We were extremely proud of all the team: they looked smart, professional and were just amazing swimmers.  The year six girls and Aaron, who have been training hard for a year now, were all exceptional.  We eagerly wait to see if Jamilla, Solana and Tyler, who all posted extremely fast times, have made it into the final gala in March.  Good luck girls!

Well done also to our new Year 4 and Year 5 swimmers – many of whom were competing in their first ever gala.  They have great potential, are the future of the team and will come back next year as senior, experienced swimmers.  Many thanks also to Mrs Dyer, our 'super coach' who leads our training every Friday and had drilled the children really well in what was expected of them at a competitive swim meet.  We did not have a single disqualifcation which is testament to the hours of practice everyone has put in.  Thanks too to Mr Brown and Ms Smythe who helped and formed our 'support team' on the day and to the parents who attended to cheer us on.  An uplifting morning which left all of us buzzing!
