CYP Upper – Hawthorn Class Assembly

This morning Hawthorn Class were stars of the show in “Reading Rocks!”.  The children took us on a journey through their reading this term.  We heard about their love of the book “Krindlekrax” and experienced an interview with the star of the book Ruskin Splinter.  We then heard about the book Miss Binks has been reading to them in story time “The Boy At The Back Of The Class” which describes the journey of  a refugee boy Ahmet who moves to England and makes new friends.  Following this, we then heard about “The Chicken Thief” which is the latest book we are studying in English lessons.  Some of the children then shared the book they are currently reading to recommend it to other pupils in the school.  We finished out assembly with a rousing rendition of “You’ve got a friend in me” as all the books have a central theme of friendship.

Everyone in Hawthorn Class loves reading, we hope you enjoyed going on our reading journey this morning.

Remember Reading Rocks!
