Year 3 at EPS celebrated the summer solstice recently with their own version of Stonehenge – Boxhenge! The brief was simple, it had to be free standing, it had to look like Stonehenge and it had to be taller than the children. The challenge was on and both EPS classes worked together to build, paper mache and paint their own monument from cardboard boxes. It was great fun for all involved and we even had time to celebrate the solstice on the field (even if it was a little late) with dancing, djembes and caveman costumes.
