There is nothing better than looking out at an array of colourful, vibrant flowers (especially on a rainy day). Our year two children have been investigating the conditions that seeds need in order to germinate and grow in to healthy plants. On Friday they took advantage of a sunny day and replanted their young sunflower plants in to large planters in the playground. During the summer months their vibrant yellow petals will add a splash of colour to the playground. The birds and squirrels will have a plentiful stock of sunflower seeds to munch on during the autumn and winter months when the sunflowers will bow their heads and the seeds will naturally fall from their casing.
