Next week, Beulah will be holding our annual School Council Election Day. The children wishing to take part as a candidate have been busy working on their campaigns so that they are ready to present them to their peers! Our School Council is very important at Beulah and they have regular meetings where they represent the voice of their own individual classes. At their meetings, children are able to discuss issues with the Head of School and staff including, raising concerns and making suggestions about how to improve their experiences at Beulah. Last year, they chose to raise money in order to buy new playground equipment and improve their classroom book corners. The final event of the year was our ‘Enterprise Week’ where each class chose and organised their own fundraising activity. It was a fun filled week – some children took part in a goal scoring competition, another class held a raffle, one class wore superhero costumes, another class wore their trainers and everyone enjoyed the delicious cakes from the cake sale and the refreshing lollies on sale after school during the week. Each class was then able to choose how to spend the money that they had raised in order to improve their own classrooms for the next academic year. Re-designing and developing the outside learning area for year one and year two has proved to have be an excellent idea suggested by the children – well done!
