International Mother Language Day is celebrated on a global basis on February 21st every year. It is a day that celebrates and honours diversity in the languages of the world and promotes cultural and linguistic diversity. Here at Beulah many of our children are bilingual – in school they speak English fluently and at home they speak their home / mother language fluently. Last Friday, some of our children proudly shared their home languages with the whole school in a special International Mother Language assembly. Celebrating different languages, traditions and cultures gives all of our children a strong appreciation for diversity.
