This week we celebrated home reading by presenting certificates to all of our children that had been busy bees using the ‘Bug Club’ during ‘lockdown’. We presented over 150 certificates to children who had clearly caught the ‘reading bug’ and were getting a ‘buzz’ out of regular reading! Many of our ‘book worms‘ had read over 50 books and one child had read over 160 books! Reading books stimulates children’s imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It also helps them develop language skills and prepares them to understand the written word.
‘Bug Club’ can be accessed from PCs, iPads, smartphones etc. The link, username and password are all listed on your child’s home learning passport.
