Beulah, Beulah how does your garden grow?

Gardening is a great way to stimulate children’s sense of touch, sight, taste and smell.  Our children at Beulah are excellent gardeners because they have been busy growing plants from seeds, preparing the garden ready for planting, planting their plants in the compost and caring for them as they have grown.  All of the children are enjoying the different smells from the herb gardens and have been looking at how we can use them in our cooking.  There was great excitement today when the nursery children found their first strawberry and year one ate their home grown beans!  There is no joy like eating their very own fruit and vegetables!  Research also suggests that children perform better at school if they are involved with gardening and many will develop a greater interest in healthy eating if they get to grow their own. Thank you to all of the staff, especially Mrs Janes for helping us!
