As we are no longer meeting together for assemblies in person, we are becoming increasingly accustomed to holding our assemblies in the virtual world. However, in a first for Ecclesbourne school, our house captain nominees took command of the assembly and delivered their speeches to the whole school via Google Meet. Everyone tuned in as the year 6 candidates, safe in their year group bubble, broadcast from the hall. It was tricky having to speak to a laptop rather than a live audience but all the children managed to give passionate speeches outlining why they should be voted in as House Captain. All the pupils across the school will now get the chance to cast their vote and we will announce the results next week. Technology and democracy in action!
