Storytelling magic with our Patron of Reading CYP Lower

We have had such a rich storytelling morning at Cypress Lower! Our wonderful Patron of Reading, Margaret Bateson-Hill, told us the story of ‘Stone Soup’ in assembly. She had some of the children helping her tell the story and all of us joining in with stirring the soup and tasting it!

Margaret also awarded Tamila her Reading Recovery certificate. Margaret was very impressed by how hard Tamila has worked to improve her reading and writing.

Margaret then went into each Reception class to tell them the story of ‘The King Who Tried to Touch the Moon’. The children were brilliant at helping Margaret with their own ideas and by joining in with the actions and words. We are so lucky to have Margaret come to Cypress and stimulate our imaginations! Why not ask your child if they can retell you one of Margaret’s stories?
