Cross Country competition

Last Thursday, 16th October and Monday 20th October, Team Cypress performed admirably yet again. Every child completed the arduous course… (one boy even managed it, with only ONE shoe!). This time the venue was Lloyd Park, for the Croydon Schools’ Cross Country Championships.

Unfortunately, there was a serious road traffic accident on the Thursday, which meant that many competitors from our school were unable to reach the event or arrived too late for their particular race. Those who were able to get there, ran fantastically, securing team points for their year group. Three children equalled their previous year’s finishing positions. We are waiting to hear from the organisers, if the year 4 boys, match the Team Silver medal they received last year as year 3s.

Special mention to Imran (yr 5), who is the second fastest boy in Croydon. For the second year running, he received his SILVER medal on Monday at Lloyd Park. He has been invited to run for Surrey next month.

All participants from our school were presented with an event badge in assembly.
Many thanks to Mrs Hart, for her marshalling, and all parents and carers who transported their offspring to the event.
