With a few weeks to go until the festive holidays, we have been busily creating our Christmas hoops. They give a little festive sparkle to our lunch times and add to the holiday excitement. We have also been working on our learning powers, building our independence and thinking about how the imagination can help us learn. Well done to Ben who achieved his gold Accelerated Reading certificate! Tyler left me amazed today after showing me his English book. He has made impressive progress in his writing since the beginning if the term and had written a very informative survival guide – keep up the dedication to improvement Tyler! Kavani has been busy showing everyone in Year 3 what an independent learner he has grown to be. He has been managing distractions, being generous to his classmates and he has learned that mistakes are part of learning and an exciting part of the learning journey – it just means you’re going to learn something new! A big congratulations also goes to Silvana, Holly, Elif, Malcolm and Ilaria who entered the ‘No need to Speed’ competition run by Miss Powell and won a prize for their entries!
We also enjoyed a convivial assembly all about Advent – the Christian count down to Christmas Day! The assembly was jam-packed full of facts and we were even treated to the 12 Days of Christmas with actions and props. Great job Larch class – a big thank you also to Mrs O’Connor, who helped the class put together such an enjoyable performance.
Well done also to Jasmina, who completed the PTFA’s scavenger hunt and wrote a very detailed description of all the places she visited on her travels with her Mum and her brother, Peter!
