This morning our Patron of Reading, Margaret Bateson-Hill, told us the African story of Oona Nanna and the enormous one tusk elephant. She had us fully involved with actions and songs and on tenterhooks for the story ending!
Margaret also set the Upper children a new reading challenge – The Cypress Dragon Book Bingo Bonanza 2019! Children will be bringing their bingo sheet home today. There are 12 challenges, some are short and some are longer. Children have until Margaret’s next visit on World Book Day (Thursday 7th March) to complete their bingo card. Evidence for each challenge should be recorded in reading diaries and shown to class teachers, who will then sign off the challenge on the bingo card. Small prizes will be awarded by Margaret on World Book Day. Get reading, Upper school!
