We have been thinking about friendship and how to be a good friend to others this week. We have also focused on our uniqueness and celebrated our differences, but we also know there are many things about us that are the same! We have been wearing odd socks today to encourage our friends to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! What a fun way to round off friendship week! The school council sold special friendship bracelets that were fashioned from zips, to remind us that sometimes as friends we may disagree, but there is always a way to come together and solve any problem. The school council sold out of bracelets! We will update you on what they have raised for their ‘school improvement fund’. See some of our odd socks in the gallery below!
As it is also Road Safety Week, we have been learning about how to stay safe as the nights get darker. Miss Powell, our STARS co-ordinator (Sustainable Travel) is entering Cypress children into a STARs London-wide ‘Brighten your Bag’ competition for all year groups; please see the pdf below if your child would like to enter. The competition closes on 11th December. Entries can be given to your class teacher (a design or a photo) to forward to Miss Powell.
Lastly, a big well done to Tomek, who wrote an descriptive character profile of Corky from Krindlekrax, accompanied by a very skilled pencil drawing! Great work Tomek!
Have a great weekend!
