CYP Lower – Launch of our virtual tour!

What a sun shiny and positive start to the Summer term we have had! This week have been learning about our new learning power which is ‘Reflectiveness’ and considering how we can build on lessons previously learnt so that we overcome barriers to our learning. By thinking carefully about our learning task we can ask the right questions, make sure we have the resources that we will need and build on / make links with prior learning.  Please talk to your children about how important it is to reflect on activities and how they may do things differently in the future to achieve greater things!

Cypress Lower School’s Virtual Tour

Cypress Lower School now has a virtual tour for our parents, carers and prospective parents to enjoy.  We are very proud of our school, premises, our learning environments and the wealth of facilities available to our children so that they can thrive.  Enjoy the tour!

Parent and carers’ evening

It is parent and carers’ evening next week,  please return your slip to the class teacher if you have not already to arrange a telephone appointment or GoogleMeet. Our teachers are looking forward to talking to you about your child’s progress and the next steps in their learning.

Class photographs

On Tuesday 27th April all class photographs are being taken, children will be given a proof of the photograph on the day with instructions of how to order. We have worked closely with the photographers to ensure arrangements are in line with our COVID -19 risk assessment and class ‘bubbles’ are maintained. Please make sure that all children are wearing their school uniform and, if they have PE on that day, bring their kit in a labelled bag.

Class assemblies

We are aware that our Reception parents and carers have not had the same opportunities to come into the school due to social distancing and current circumstances so we have decided that Reception classes will take part in virtual assemblies this term and show off their classrooms and learning.  Parents and carers will be able to watch the assemblies via GoogleMeet (a letter to explain the logon details will be sent out nearer the date). Year 1 will also be leading assemblies later in the term. So please save the follow dates:

Class  Date
Orange class Thursday 29th April
Red Class Thursday 13th May
Yellow Class Tuesday 18th May
Indigo Class Thursday 27th May

School Menus

This term we are holding the Spanish themed menus on the 20th May, we have also planning a ‘Harrison Bear’s Picnic Lunch’ in June and an ‘American Themed Indoor Barbeque Style Lunch’ in July.  All the featured ingredients promotions from April to July 2021 will remain as planned, and we will still offer the ‘End of Year Lunch Party’ themed menu on the last day of term instead of the ‘usual’ menu.

Theme Days Calendar April July 2021 (revised) (5)

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
