CYP Lower – Fun in the Sun for Years 1, 2 and our Keyworker Children!

The children at Cypress Lower have been having a fantastic time in the sunshine this week. We have welcomed back some of our Year 2 children and they have settled in so well to our ‘new normal’ here at Cypress. As well as following the Home Learning pages for Year 1 and 2, the children have enjoyed plenty of time in our wonderful grounds.

Some of the activities covered this week have included: working on the African story ‘Mama Panya’s Pancakes’, looking at African artefacts, drawing silhouettes of African animals, making mosaics for African pots, frying plaintain in the shady woodland, making pancakes, raft building, creating woodland creatures from found items, making and eating fruit kebabs, joining Mrs Sorensen, Miss Chapman and Mrs Sampson for an uplifting ‘virtual’ assembly and much, much more! Our keyworker children in the Little Cypress building have also had a fabulous week, working and playing really co-operatively together.

Please join us next Friday morning at 10.30am for an exciting Cypress Lower School assembly with Margaret Bateson-Hill, our Patron of Reading. The Google Meet nickname for this assembly will be: cyplower

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and perhaps some of you are looking forward to some cooler weather?

Stay safe and well,

Mrs Sorensen and Miss Chapman
