It was busy, last Friday, as WHJUN enjoyed our annual ‘Museum Day’, such a wonderful opportunity for the children to share their hard work in our ‘Thematic’ curriculum. The school looked better than ever and the quality of the children’s work on show was outstanding. As we have been looking at progression in our foundation subjects, it was lovely to see how the children’s skills improve during their time with us, from their early ‘Great Exhibition’ clay dinosaurs in Year 3, through their Viking dragon figureheads in Year 5 and on to their intricate Grecian pots in Year 6. Progression was evident too between Year 4’s Roman coin purses and Year 6’s embroidered samplers. We are so proud of the creative work that they do and happy to provide curriculum opportunities that develop their skills. I hope those of you who made a visit enjoyed the ancient food stuffs and the learning activities set up for you participate in.
