Year 3 children from Whitehorse Manor, Brigstock and Ecclesbourne schools had the exciting opportunity to visit the London Wetlands Centre in Barnes this week as part of their Science topic about plants.
Children were able to get face-to-face with some very cute otters who were swimming freely and enjoying the sunshine.
We discovered all about different types of plants and leaves – learning about toothed, lobed and smooth leaves as well as leaflets (but not the paper kind!). Children were then set a challenge to find different varieties of leaves and were generally very successful.
We also found time to play in the Wetlands Adventure Playground and find out all about different Wetland creatures around the world in the Discovery Zone.
A fun-filled day had by all!
